A Community Commitment
On Thursday, April 30th, 2015, So Blu Clothing hosted a reception in our store to raise money for SCIBC (Spinal Cord Injury BC).
For this particular reception, we invited all of our customers, friends, and family to come and attend a wine reception where we served nibbles and offered them an opportunity to donate and shop for the evening. We sold raffle tickets for a prize draw with many fantastic prizes, among them: a weekend at Black Rock Oceanfront Resort in Ucluelet, a So Blu makeover with hair makeover from La Rouge Salon & Spa, and a pair of Mavi jeans. We kept the raffle sales going in the store for 2 weeks following the event so those who missed the reception still had a chance to donate and win. The evening was exciting and energetic – we even went around giving all the ladies temporary tattoos!
In addition to the fundraiser, we also partnered with Mavi jeans to donate Mavi Gold or 34 Heritage jeans to all the top SCIBC winners of the Scotia Bank Charity challenge. The prizewinners that were in wheelchairs were offered the service of having their jeans modified with a custom-sewn stretch panel in the front for more comfort and ease of getting on and off.
